How to Make Lash Glue Dry Faster

Patience may be a virtue, but we don’t always have it on our side! Often, our clients are in the same boat. Knowing how to make lash glue dry faster isn’t just good for saving time; it’s also good for achieving more precise and secure eyelash extensions.

If you want to speed up drying time, take a look at our list of comprehensive strategies for lash technicians to accelerate the lash glue drying process, enhance efficiency, and produce the most secure and glorious lashes possible.

From lash fans and primers to humidity control and proper application technique, there are a myriad of ways for new and experienced lash artists to make their adhesive curing process as quick as can be.

Let’s speed up your lash practice with these industry-approved tips!

Tips For Speeding Up Drying Time

  • Use a Lash Fan

They say if you have a good fan base, you’re on the path to success! Lash fans may not ask for your autograph, but they’ll certainly improve the quality and speed of your lash applications.

Using a lash fan like Belo’s Mini Pink Lash Fan is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to speed up the drying process for your freshly set lash extensions. This pretty Pink USB Rechargeable Lash Fan also works wonders for faster curing and drying.

Lash fans help circulate air around the lashes, promoting quicker drying and preventing lashes from sticking together. They’re an adorable way to shorten the lash glue curing window and give your clients a satisfying lash application experience.

Both our Mini Pink Lash Fan and the Pink USB Rechargeable Lash Fan are specifically designed to speed up glue drying time and reduce the effects of fumes during lash treatments.

  • Use a Primer

A primer can be applied to lashlines before adding lash glue or extensions for a quicker, deeper-setting cure. Quality primers cleanse and prep natural lashes by removing oils and residues, creating a better surface for adhesive bonding and leading to faster drying.

Belo’s Forever Fix Primer is your bestie. This bonding agent is designed to streamline your setting process and lay down a solid foundation for perfect lashes to be built on. With its magical formula, a primer like this will create a BFF-worthy bond between lashes and lash glue.

  • Use a Lash Sealant

If you want to know how to make lash glue dry faster, lash sealant is a great place to start. Lash sealants lock in the adhesive bond, protect it from external factors, and speed up the curing process, ultimately extending the life of the extensions.

Belo’s Little Quickie Superbonder is one of the best sealants in the biz.

This precious tincture contains triethanolamine for rapid curing and Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract for soothing so that your clients can enjoy swimming, showering, or strolling in the rain without worrying about their lashes falling out.

Basically, the Superbonder helps expedite the curing development without causing shock polymerisation or becoming brittle. A couple of drops is all you need for sealed lash glue perfection!

  • Control Humidity

Heat and humidity also affect lash extensions and play a big role in adhesive curing. Many of the chemicals used in lash glue adhesives - like cyanoacrylate and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) - harden in the presence of moisture, even if it’s coming from the air.

The best humidity range for perfectly cured lash glue is 55-65%, but if your humidity is higher, our Bestie Bond can help, as it works best in 60-65% humidity!

If your humidity is too high, it can lead to gloopy, sticky, and coagulated lash glue—none of which is likely to make you or your client happy! Fortunately, finding ways to control humidity can change all that.

For instance, humidity control devices like a hygrometer can help maintain optimal levels in the workspace. Hygrometers are easy to buy online or at hardware stores and will help you keep track of humidity wherever you go (a big win for those of us with temperamental hair!).

  • Temperature Control

We couldn’t have a conversation about how to make lash glue dry faster without mentioning temperature. How hot or cold it is in your beauty studio is a major factor in the success of a lash application session. Too hot, and the lash glue will dry too fast. If it is too cold, it’ll stay wet forever.

Ideally, you want your lash glue to remain within a stable temperature range of between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. This is the perfect temperature range for your lash glue to stay liquid and manageable while still being able to cure at a reasonable pace.

  • Use Fast-Drying Adhesives

One of the many perks of Belo’s lash glue collection is that you can choose from a wide range of different adhesives to suit your needs.

The Bulletproof Max Adhesive is an ideal choice for experienced technicians who want consistently swift results every time. With an impressive drying track record of 0.5 seconds, the Bulletproof Max lash glue does not waste time!

Fast-drying adhesives are generally recommended for more seasoned lash artists who can work quickly and apply lashes at the same speed as they are drying.

If you are still learning or prefer to work a little slowly (hey, no judgement here!), fast-drying lash glue can be challenging to work with. But if you feel confident in your ability to apply lashes super swiftly, this rapid-acting adhesive can be a huge asset to your skills.

If you need something more forgiving, our Bestie Bond Adhesive takes 1-2 seconds to dry, and Bulletproof Bond Adhesive takes 1 second.

  • Proper Application Technique

Using the right products is always important, but without proper technique, even they can fall a little flat.

Knowing how to make lash glue dry faster is every bit as important as the type of glue you are using, and brushing up on those skills is something we can all benefit from!

  • Not too much, not too little: Using the right amount of lash glue is crucial for a quick curing process. Too much will result in a wet, gloopy application that takes far too long to dry, while too little can result in weak adhesive bonding.

  • Ensure proper placement: Applying lash glue to the wrong part of your client’s lash line can cause curing delays and unnecessarily wonky placement. Make sure you are applying your lash glue to the spine of each lash (or lash fan) for the best results.

  • Focus on symmetry and consistency: When applying lash glue and setting in those gorgeous flutterers, don’t forget to pause and assess. You want your client to walk out with wonderfully balanced eyelashes that look consistent and symmetrical on both sides.

  • Practice makes perfect: It’s true—mastering the fine art of lash glue may take some trial and error, but in the end, it’s all part of the process. Every time you practise lash glue application, you get a little bit better, so don’t give up hope!

Although using the right products and having the right environment are certainly needed for fast-drying lash glue, the hands that apply it are just as important.

Learning the proper application techniques for lash glue is an empowering process that can make dealing with adhesives a much less daunting experience.

Taking a Belo training course is a great way to brush up on those skills and become an even better lash artist.

Ready, Set, Go

The skill of knowing how to make lash glue dry faster is something that every lash tech can benefit from.

While speed isn’t everything, working quickly can help you win over clients, squeeze more appointments into your day, and boost your confidence as a lash artist.

Lash glue can be a capricious product to work with, but once you understand what it needs, applying it becomes second nature. With the right humidity, temperature, and application expertise, you can help your lash glue set swiftly and securely!
