Korean Lash Lift FAQ’s

Korean Lash Lift FAQ’s

Since its inception in the UK market, the Korean Lash Lift method has taken the lash industry by storm - quickly becoming the most favoured treatment for lifting your client's natural lashes.

A Korean Lash Lift is a quick, gentle to lift the lashes without the damage of traditional methods.

What Is The Difference Between A Korean Lash Lift And A Traditional Lash Lift?

Traditional lash lifting systems have a main active ingredient called thioglycolic acid (TGA), to break down the disulfide bonds in the keratin of the hair. Thioglycolic acid is an aggressive ingredient and although effective it can be harsh on the natural hairs, because of its potency it is a lot easier to overprocess the lashes and can often be too harsh for clients with delicate lashes and sensitivities.

The Korean lash lifting technique requires a less intense solution, so instead we use a solution containing cysteamine. Cysteamine has a lower PH meaning less cuticle damage and a more controlled chemical reaction, just like thioglycolic acid, cysteamine breaks down the disulfide bonds in the keratin of the hair, but in a more regulated, slower process.

Another difference is with a Korean lash lift we are able to put the solution through the entire length of the lashes from root to tip. This will not cause damage to the natural lashes as the cysteamine solution is so gentle.

Should I Be Charging More For A Korean Lash Lift?

This is completely up to you, due to the slower processing time of the solutions the treatment typically does take a little longer to complete so there is room to charge more. We charge the same price for a Korean lash lift as the cost of the products is the same.

How Often Can The Treatment Be Carried Out?

We recommend a gap of 6-8 weeks between treatments, typically the results will last around 6-8 weeks so you wont need the lashes redoing until then anyway! It is safer to leave this gap between to avoid damage to the natural lashes.

Can I Try This Method On A Client If Their Lashes Haven’t Lifted With The Traditional Method?

Yes! We have tried and tested this method on clients who have previously had an underwhelming lift with the traditional method, and their lashes have lifted beautifully with the Korean lash lift technique.

If you've previously struggled with lash lifts, it may your lash lift adhesive that's tripping you up. Flaking glues cause issues even for the most experienced lash techs, so it might be time to switch out to a glue balm.
