Best Lash Shields for Different Lash Lengths

Every lash tech knows the pain of doing all of the steps right in a lash lift, and the results still ending up underwhelming. But the problem might not be your technique.

A lot of the time, the thing making your lash lift underwhelming is your shield choice.

Not all lash shields work the same way. That’s why it’s important to understand the look each shield can help you achieve and always have a variety on your trolley so you are able to cater for all of your clients.

Best lash shields for short lashes

When selecting shields for short lashes we need to consider that we want to make the MOST of the lash length to have the biggest impact. Avoid selecting a shield that is overly round or curved and go for a shield that offers a strong root lift to elongate the lashes as much as possible.

For a dramatic lift, our Rainbow lash lift shields are a perfect choice for clients looking for that wow final result. Rainbow shields are a hybrid style in an LU curl, so it lifts straight from the root of the lashes into a very slightly curved lift.

If your client is wanting a more natural, or softer look we would opt for our Galaxy shields. Galaxy is another hybrid style, but in an LC curl, so will still give that really good root lift like a rainbow shield but it will offer a softer curl rather than a dramatic uplift.

Best lash shield for medium length lashes

At the medium lash length, your shield choice is so varied as you have a lot more options. Both the shields we previously mentioned work really well for medium length also (but always size up if the lashes pass the apex of the lash shield curve!)

When working with medium length lashes we don’t need to be as cautious about steering away from a more rounded style of shield. Shield choice for a client with medium length lashes will come down to:

Your clients preference on the overall finished result
Your client’s eye shape.

For a classic curl on medium length lashes, we would recommend our glueless pink shields, they offer a soft curl and will give a softer finish.

Best lash shield for long lashes

Having clients with long lashes is such a treat when doing a lash lift or Korean lash lift. But often they can be disappointing if you don’t nail your shield choice.

For a dramatic lift, we recommend using either our Nova ascent lash lift shields or Rainbow shields, opt for a nova shield if you want to create more space between the lashes and the eyelid on the uplift (for example if your client has slightly hooded eyes).
