How To Turn First Time Clients Into Loyal Regulars

Are you filling appointments easily but not seeing a high re booking rate? It’s now more important than ever to put in the extra work to maintain loyal regular clients than ever before, with the lash industry being more saturated you want to go the extra mile to stand out.

There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of a client re booking & sticking with you instead of shopping around and this is what a full diary is built on, your regulars.

Make It Easy To Book In and Re-Book Appointments

Let go of your emotional attachment to your handheld diary, seriously. Clients want ease and having a direct booking link that allows them to see all of your availability without going back and forth in DMs will make all the difference. It’s seamless and more professional too, the client will receive a booking confirmation/ directions/ your policies etc.

Enhance Your Service

Think of the first appointment as your trial run at a new job, you would naturally want to put as much effort in as possible to ensure you secured the full time position. Think of the first appointment with a new client in the exact same way. A friendly greeting, a cosy warm room, calming music/sounds, a scented diffuser/candle, electric blanket on the bed. Clients don’t just remember the lash set you created for them, they remember how you made them feel and how comfortable the overall experience was. 

Being on Time & Reliable 

Clients want stability, make sure you aren’t rearranging appointments or running late for your clients put yourself in your clients shoes and imagine how of putting this would be it would make you assume this may happen all the time and 

Offering Late Night & Out-of-Hour Appointments

Offering late night appointments if you can, can also be a really good one for not only getting new clients through the door but also keeping a loyal client base. Imagine a client books in with you, loves the set of lashes you’ve created and the environment you’ve provided then realises you ALSO offer late night out of hours apps, its another tick on the checklist.. a lot of clients will work full time 9-5 jobs and also have evening commitments, having the option to come for their lash app at 8/9pm works perfectly with their busy schedule.

Tailoring Lash Sets To Compliment Clients Eye Shape

Researching into which styles compliment which eye shapes and perfecting your sets will get you one step ahead of the game, clients may have been and had a lash set before but have they had a lash set styled before? If they get extra value from the service and something they feel is tailored and unique to them you’ve got more chance of them wanting to come back to you for that exact reason.

  • Loyalty cards 

Offering loyalty cards that you stamp at each appointment for the opportunity for your client to get discount after their 5th appointment for example gives them another reason to re book in with you.

  • Follow up message after their app

Don’t feel shy to message your client following their app with you, we always find its nice to mention at their first appointment that if there’s anything they would want to change/ do differently at their next appointment that its absolutely fine and okay to voice that to you so it takes away the awkwardness if they did have something different in mind, it takes a few apps sometimes for us as lash techs to fully understand exactly what the client loves/dislikes. A follow up message just checks in to make sure they’re happy/ see how the retention is.
